Let's Pretend This Never Happened

OK...so I got all sick and then a little depressed afterwards because I was so fucking tired and so fucking bored. But I managed to quit smoking and start going to the gym 3 times a week until just recently. This week has been a bit too crazy for me to be so perfectly well behaved.

Recently Adam and I sat down and dissected our finances and realized that for us to be at all safe when he gets out of the Marines in a year we were going to not only have to cut back on expenses, we'd have to start pulling in some extra income, too. So I started pouring over the want ads, my only prospects seemingly telemarketing or waitressing. It started getting a bit depressing. But on Tuesday, Nishant and I went to the Zombie Lounge to catch up and I mentioned to Chris, who was bartending, that I needed a job. And behold, someone was quitting there, they might need help soon. So I went out last night and (slightly drunk) met the owner of the bar. And of course I charmed him into hiring me to bar back on Saturdays when they have bands. It won't be a heavy influx of cash, but I'll be bringing in money w/o having to give up much of my weekends or my evenings during the week. And, instead of working Denny's for shit tips, I'll see some local bands. Much better than refilling some asshole's bottomless cup of coffee.

But this Saturday is Coachella! James is flying down from Seattle tonight and then Nishant, James and I are headed up tomorrow morning sometime. They say it's only going to be a chilly 87 degrees this year. I've heard that shit before. We'll see. Last year was in the mid-100s somewhere, near unbearable, the peak of the heat when they suprised us with Beck taking stage. The smallest stage. And tented, too...out of the sun but with 2000 sweaty, breathing people inside. Without the promise of Pixies and Radiohead I may have collapsed. This year, I've got the outfit. What little of it there actually is. Strange tan lines for the rest of the year and Chemical Brothers here I come!!
